Membership is £30 a year. It covers the hall, the guest speakers and the competitions, and it's what keeps the club running. If you haven't been along yet, come first — your first few visits are free.

Then there’s no rush to do this bit. Come along on a Thursday first, meet a few people and see how you find it. Most members came two or three times before they joined, and nobody is going to ask you for money at the door.

How joining works

- You'll get a welcome emailConfirming what you've paid for, and what to expect on your first Thursday as a member.
- Come along as usualNothing changes about how the evening works — you're just on the list now, and everything's included.

Questions about membership
Does my membership renew automatically?
Yes. It’s £30 once a year, taken on the anniversary of the day you joined, and it carries on until you cancel it.
How do I cancel?
From your account on this site, whenever you like. There’s no notice period and no cancellation fee, and you keep your membership until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
Do I have to join to come along?
No. Your first few visits are free and there’s no obligation afterwards. Membership is for people who’ve decided they’d like to keep coming.
What if I join partway through the year?
Your year runs twelve months from the day you join, not from any club calendar. You’ll never pay for months you weren’t here for.
Can I pay by cash or bank transfer?
Membership is online only — paid by card here on this page, and renewed the same way. It keeps the admin down to almost nothing, which matters in a club run by volunteers. If you’d rather not do that part on your own, say so at a meeting and someone will sit down and sort it out with you.
