A friendly camera club serving Dunfermline, Rosyth and Dalgety Bay. We meet every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm — all levels welcome, and your first few visits are free.
What happens on a Thursday
Most weeks it’s a talk, a demonstration, or a critique session where members put recent work up and talk about how they made it. Sometimes there’s a guest speaker. Sometimes we just get the kettle on and compare notes.
Nothing is compulsory. Plenty of people come along for months before they show anything, and that is completely fine.
Wherever you're starting from
Never used anything but a phone? Good — plenty of us started there. We’ll help you get off auto, understand light, and frame something you’re pleased with, at whatever pace suits you.
Already know your way around a camera? Bring work along for honest critique, take on the monthly brief, and swap notes with people who have been at this for years.
Every month there’s a theme. Shoot it however you like, share what you get, and see what everyone else made of exactly the same brief.

Joining the collective
Come along a few times first — genuinely, there’s no rush and nothing to pay. When you’re ready, membership is £30 a year and runs for twelve months from the day you join.

Questions people usually ask
Do I need my own camera?
No. Plenty of our members started with a phone, and some still use one. If you want to try a proper camera, someone will usually have a spare to hand at a meeting.
Is it just for beginners?
Not at all. We’re beginner friendly, which is a different thing — members range from people who’ve never come off auto to others who’ve been shooting for thirty years. Everyone gets something out of the same evening.
What does it cost to come along?
Your first few visits are free. There’s no pressure to join, and no one will chase you.

Every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, at Abbeyview Community Hub. We draw members from Dunfermline, Rosyth, Dalgety Bay and around.
